Call Update

On Monday, June 14, the Church Council met to select Call Committee members. Nineteen people expressed an interest in being on the Call Committee. The Council wanted to ensure the committee was not too large but was also representative of the church’s membership. It was decided that about 7 to 11 members representing nearly every demographic group (age, length of membership, male or female, etc), interest and service times would be best. Let me briefly explain the process the Council went through to prayerfully consider each person who asked
to be considered.

First, we prayed for each person individually and the entire group collectively asking the Holy Spirit to guide us inour selection. Next, each council member ranked each of the 19 individuals from most likely to least likely to be on the committee. Then, the individual rankings were tabulated to form a consensus of the council as a whole.

Reviewing the tabulated results a natural break occurred at a nine-member Call Committee that met the demographic principles the council wanted to achieve. The members of the Call Committee are: Celia Cuthbertson, Ron Kassebaum, Jenelle Lauderback, Roger Moore, Linda Pease, John Rothrock, Cindy Samuelson,
Robin Tast, and Linda Willis.

I personally want to thank the 19 members that expressed an interest in serving on the Call Committee and their commitment to Our Savior’s. During the coming weeks I invite you to extend a thank you to the Call Committee members noted. Finally, I would most deeply appreciate each member’s prayers for the work of the Call Committee as it takes on the task of calling a new pastor for Our Savior’s.
