SPECIAL CONGREGATIONAL
MEETING MINUTES
May 9, 2004
The
purpose of the Special Congregational Meeting was to discuss the bids for
the Sunday School roof repair and to share information gathered by the
Building for Ministry Task Force.
Two
bids were received concerning the repairs on the South Education wing
roof. With these repairs the
Building Improvement Fund and the Building Reserve Fund, with total
balances of $21,812 at April 30, 2004, will be depleted.
The Property Committee recommended the bid from Midwest Coating. The bid includes a material that matches the color of the
trim work and allows for venting. The
roof material will have a 15-year warranty and the installation will be
checked by the regional manager. The
total cost of installation will be $9,667 and an additional $300 will take
care of sealing the guttering. John
Rothrock made a motion to reaffirm the directive from the congregation to
repair the roof on the South Education wing.
Melvin Bruntzel seconded and all approved.
The motion was passed.
Three
meetings are planned to discuss the direction that the congregation should
take in regards to how the church can enhance the facility:
-
May
18th – An invitation to the long range planning meeting
was extended by John Rothrock.
-
May
24th – Utilization of the current facility will be lead

-
