Members Present: Kevin Carr, Tom Padilla, Robin Tast, Dwight Rumpel, Chuck Middendorf, and Beth Edmonds. Absent: John Brandau and Pastor Meggan Prosser-Gebhardt Kevin welcomed everyone to the meeting and opened with prayer. Minutes for the May Council Meeting were reviewed and approved (Dwight / Beth).
Treasurer’s Report – As of May 31, 2008, the Worship Center Fund receipts are $106,012.88 and after expenditures, we have $7,387.38 left in the account with the Escrow Total Remaining Project balance at $95,509.49. The General Fund Contributions for May were $15,666.32 while General contributions for April were $18,374.75. However, year-to-date contributions were $91,271.90, approximately $7000 more than last year at this time. The treasurer's report was approved. (Beth / Chuck)
Property Report – May projects: Yard mowed weekly, trees trimmer, driveway sealer purchased (will use when weather permits), floor registered repaired, clocks were reset, kitchen and south paint closets were cleaned out and rearranged, tightened the A/C belt, hung the VBS sign, checked roof for water leaks and had Midwest Roofing repair sever sites (Midwest Roofing had completed previous roofing work), removed old light fixtures from the premises, rearrangement of Sanctuary to accommodate venders, reset thermostats. Chuck also reports the Building Committee and the Property Committee agree to not install new carpet until after VBS. Chuck Middendorf asked Earl Tast to look at the structural integrity of the playground equipment. In Earl’s opinion, the playground is safe to use for the foreseeable future. As a side-note, the VBS children will not be using the playground equipment. Pastor Report – No report as she is on vacation Committee Updates – Council members provided a brief update on their respective committees. Old Business – Robin provided a brief update on the progress of the Nominating Committee. New Business – The July Congregational meeting will be July 27, 2008 after Worship. Kevin has sent an email to all committee chairs asking them to submit their Annual Reports in the near future. The next council meeting is scheduled for Monday July 14th, 2008 at 6:00pm.
